With so much history to unearth, seaside communities and cultures to discover, natural beauty and wildlife to marvel at, it’s hard to cover it all in one trip. That’s why we’ve gathered some of our favourite nearby towns and attractions for you to visit, we’re confident that there’s something for everyone!

Sidmouth

Less than half an hour away is the Regency town of Sidmouth which offers a unique atmosphere with its timeless charm and character. Surround yourself with historic architecture and slow down for the day as you stroll through the seaside town’s gardens, clean beaches, and independent shops. Hire a boat from Port Royal to go fishing in, visit the Manor Pavilion Theatre to see a range of musicals, plays and ballets, or attend one of the town’s many events such as Sidmouth Folk Week, or Sidmouth Regatta!

South West Coast Path

Hikers, dog walkers and adventurers will be delighted to hear that we’re less than 10 miles away from the world-famous South West Coast Path! The breath-taking trail spans 630 miles from Dorset to Somerset and is the best way to discover the beaches, hidden coves and fishing villages that our coastline has to offer! The coast path is suitable for walkers of all abilities; with trails ranging from steep climbs to gentle walks with rewarding views. Two routes we’d love to recommend are the Sidmouth to Seaton walk; a challenging 10 mile trail with beautiful views and steep climbs, and the Sidmouth to Branscombe walk which is half the length at 5 miles, but still offers amazing views!

Seaton

15 miles away from us is the charming seaside town of Seaton which sits in the heart of the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site. Head to the nearby beaches to hunt for fossils with the famous white cliffs towering above you, browse the independent shops for local goods and produce, visit Seaton Tramway for an unforgettable ride through the countryside, or stick to the basics with a beach day under the sun! With plenty of cafes, pubs and shops dotted around the town, you won’t struggle for food and drink, so pack your bags and enjoy this delightful spot on the South Coast!

Budleigh Salterton

The tranquil seaside town of Budleigh Salterton offers fantastic walking trails, dramatic views of the Jurassic Coast, and a busy calendar of community events. The 2 mile-long pebble beach is an excellent place to spend the day, with fishing equipment available to hire nearby and all the cafes, fish and chip takeaways, amusements and shops a visitor could hope for! In the hills surrounding the town are adventure parks, golf courses, guided walks, and of course, the East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty; so you won’t fall short of things to do and places to see in this charming area of Devon!

Based between Seaton and Sidmouth, this relaxing community boasts one of the longest villages in the country; with its streets and paths sweeping down through a dramatic valley before meeting the colourful cottages on the waterfront. Stroll the narrow streets, enjoy the hanging baskets and climbing roses that decorate the thatched buildings, discover local churches and independent shops, and take in the most breath taking views the South Coast has to offer!
